For over 20 years, our name has been synonymous with digital solutions. Established in 1999 as the Innovation Center of a Hamburg media company (Tomorrow Internet AG), Cellular quickly made a name for itself as an award-winning company for mobile software development. Initially, our primary focus was digitizing print content from publishers e.g. for WAP phones.
Fast forward to the launch of the iPhone, we were amongst the first pioneers to create iOS and later also
Android applications. Since then, we have proven time and again our ability to digitize content and business processes – no matter for which device or application. We understood early on that it is key to develop intelligent backend solutions that function independently of screen sizes and end device.
In 2014, the long-standing managing directors Birger Veit und Roman Kocholl acquired the company in full from the parent company Tomorrow Focus AG (now HolidayCheck Group AG) in a management buyout. In 2017 Panos Meyer joined. He continues to lead Cellular as the sole managing director.
Today, we employ over 100 employees who are all committed to our “Impact Engineering” mission. We help companies to bring their outdated business models to a new level by offering consulting, strategy, design and development from one provider. We count companies such as Tui Cruises and ZDF among our clients, and other new players such as Bitburger and the Hamburger Hochbahn have recently joined our clientele.
Together with our sister company FFW – a global digital agency with 400 employees in Asia, Europe and the USA – we are well equipped to successfully manage large, multi-year infrastructure contracts as well as innovative lighthouse projects.
